Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria, June 26, 2020: Today a delegation of a nongovernmental organization, the Patriotic Citizens of Amuzi (PCA), visited Master Joseph Oluomachi Opara, the talented 9-year-old singing sensation, from Ogwuama Ahiazu Mbaise, whose video recently went viral, to express their pride and solidarity with him and his parents, Mr Bethrand and Mrs Kelechi Opara.
The PCA, a community development support organization based in Amuzi, Ahiazu- Mbaise, the home town of the grandmother of the angelic voice kid, hence the PCA’s heightened and effusive interest in the singing phenom, who has attracted floods of sponsorships from all over the world. During the visit the PCA Central Working Committee (CWC) Chairman, Chief BC Nwachukwu and delegation, made an undisclosed donation to support Master Oluomachi, his other 4 sibllings and family. The PCA also pledged to put at their disposal its vast global resource network, while also pledging on behalf of the Board of Trustees the support of the Eze Cletus & Ugoeze Dorathy Oparaoji Memorial Educational Foundation (ECUDOMEF), to be partner in his development.
Commenting on the event, the convener of PCA, Professor Eddie Oparaoji, said “I get goose bumps as many times that I have listened to his supernatural renditions. I was knocked off my feet and filled to the brim with pride when I became aware he has his roots in my home town of Amuzi. Our visit today was to reassure the family, that they are now part of the PCA family, with her vast global resources network. Let me also on behalf of PCA and all people of goodwill commend Mr Stanley Chineso Nnamdi, a native of Ikenanzizi, Obowo in Imo State who on realizing Oluomachi’s extraordinary talent, videoed and posted him all over social media.”
Master Oluomachi is a primary 4 pupil at Uzi layout primary school in Owerri North Local Government Area of imo State. He is the third of five children of his parents. His father is an automobile panel beater and painter, while the mother trades in local fruits. Master Oluomachi’s grandmother hails from Umuoparaokiehi Umuodu Amuzi.
According to reports, among numerous sponsorship offers he has received, Master Oluomachi whose interest is to become a Catholic priests has been offered scholarship by the Sons of Mary Mother of Mercy (SMMM) Congregation to attend their Minor Seminary, Mercy Seminary Bende, in Abia State.
Other members of the PCA delegation at the visit were the Councilor representing Amuzi/Ihenweorie Ward Hon Uche Chris Agomuo, Chief Joe Kemdirim, and Mr Alex Opara.
