Amuzi Extols Ihedioha, Onwuliri For Widow New Home

AMUZI COMMUNITY EXTOLS IHEDIOHA, ONWULIRI FOR ACTUALIZING NEW HOUSE FOR A DISTRESSED WIDOW

Amuzi, Ahiazu Mbaise, September 04. 2020: The Patriotic Citizens of Amuzi (PCA), a non governmental organization based in Amuzi, Ahiazu Mbaise, has showered praises on the former governor of Imo State His Excellency Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha and wife Her Excellency Mrs Ebere Ihedioha, for fulfilling their promise to relocate a widow in distress, Mrs Maria Madu and family to a new house, following the collapse of her house during a torrential rainfall a year ago.  The harrowing plight of Mrs Maria Madu, a widow from Umuowasi Amuzi, Ahiazu LGA of Imo State, was brought to the attention of Professor Eddie Oparaoji and the Patriotic Citizens of Amuzi (PCA), who in turn immediately reached out to the then Imo State Commissioner for Education, Her Excellency Professor Viola Onwuliri, a native and  fierce widows advocate.

Professor Onwuliri immediately reached out and got an instant response from the First Lady of Imo State, Her Excellency, Mrs Ebere Ihedioha, who sprang into action. Without delay, the First Lady dispatched her team to Amuzi to empathize with Mrs Maria Madu, assessed the extent of damage to her house and made a commitment to build a brand new house to relocate her and children. Notwithstanding delays associated with COVID-19, the house is now mostly completed and ready for move in.

During the recent walk through exercise led by Professor Onwuliri, Mrs Madu prayed for and gave thanks to His Excellency Emeka Ihedioha and the wife Her Excellency Ebere Ihedioha,  Her Excellency Professor Viola Onwuliri, and the PCA and its convener Professor Eddie Oparaoji for their humanitarian gestures in rehabilitating her and family.

Among the PCA central working committee members in the walk through contingent were Chief BC Nwachukwu, a community leader and Chairman of the PCA Central Working, Hon Uche Agomuo, and Mr Chikaodi Nwaneri.
